La Hacienda de los Barrios – Patio Dining
Opening its doors in February of 2004 La Hacienda de los Barrios quickly became one of the busiest Mexican food restaurants in San Antonio, Texas. The indoor dining area has a large and open floor plan. Filled with diners, busy wait staff, and music it is a true fiesta. The outdoor patio is quite large wrapping around two sides of the restaurant. The wooden deck, surrounded by well-established oak trees, keep the customers shaded. The patio area is equipped with its own bar and often a live band.
La Hacienda de los Barrios – Children’s Play Areas
La Hacienda de los Barrios is not just great for adults but for the whole family. They have not one but two play areas for the children. They are located far enough from the dining areas to allow for a peaceful setting but still close enough to keep an eye on ones children. One of the play areas is equipped with slides and a climbing wall. The play areas are fenced in to help keep the children secure. They have a large parking lot so they provide rides for those who want or need one.

The La Hacienda de los Barrios has an extensive menu featuring tons of Tex-Mex favorites. They offer several continuously running promotions including a Monday through Friday happy hour from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Monday through Friday lunch specials from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The La Hacienda de los Barrios also offers an Early Bird Special Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Early Bird Special offers customers some of their best entrees all for under $6.95 or less. Some of the entrees include the Taco Trio ($5.50), Chalupa Duo ($5.95), Grilled Fajita Chicken Salad ($5.95), and their Ladies Special which is one bean and cheese chalupa and one crispy beef taco with rice, salad, a guacamole ($5.95). Another bonus to dining at La Hacienda de los Barrios is that they serve breakfast from open to close allowing anyone with a craving for Huevos Rancheros to indulge.

The atmosphere at the La Hacienda de los Barrios is fun and upbeat and the dress is casual. The popularity of the restaurant can occasionally make for a lengthy wait time but with their Early Bird Specials and happy hour deals no one leaves unsatisfied. The bar will serve customers waiting to be seated to keep the mood festive. The wait staff is excellent and attentive and portion sizes are overly abundant. La Hacienda de los Barrios is one of San Antonio’s best Mexican food restaurants.
